Oh gosh, it is quite a description, and not one I entirely deserve, thus I am all the more grateful to be a part of it. Out of curiosity, I looked up "liebster" online, and found that the most prominent meaning for this German word is boyfriend / sweetheart / darling. That definition made me giggle, and now I can only think of this wonderful award as the Boyfriend award. :)
Without further ado, here are some tidbits about me, courtesy of Danielle's questions :
1. What is your dream job? A software engineer at Google ( I can't even explain how much I adore this company ). Specifically, I'd love to lead a project in their Search department or spearhead a new branch of this quickly expanding company. This is mostly wishful thinking. ^^;

| i was lucky to visit the google office in manhattan. they play with legos there. :) |
"At the end of the world / we'll be together, be together. / If I can spend it with you / then the end of the world don't matter."
sings Lenka in her song, "The End of the World." I can't think of a better way of spending my last day other than surrounded by loved ones - both family and friends - and sharing a home-made dinner, with plenty of ice cream and casual banter. Oh, and to see penguins.

9. What is your favorite season? Autumn. All the warm, vibrant colors just fill me with such joy. While it may mean winter is coming ( Stark words (: ), it is the season of harvest, of plentifulness.

At this point, I was instructed by Danielle to tag 11 others, but because I can be horrendously indecisive, I opted for just tagging 3.
A Miusmie is a wonderful blog written by Rooth. It is filled with snippets of her life, told to us with enchanting words and anecdotes that are sure to make you smile. Oh, did I mention that she's an avid book-reader? :)
Fashion and Tea is where Stephanie serves up entrées of delightful outfits accompanied by beautiful pictures ( lots of which are of food, yum! ).
FAIIINT is one of the first blogs I stumbled upon in my initial foray into blogging, and if you haven't been yet, do check it out! There are beautiful and edgy outfits aplenty, with sides of gorgeous illustrations and inspiration posts.
To these three beautiful bloggers, I convey these instructions:
- Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
- Answer the questions the tagger has set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you've tagged to answer. My questions for you are:
- Who is your favorite celebrity?
- What is your favorite quote?
- What is a pet peeve of yours?
- Sunlight or moonlight?
- What is your favorite movie?
- What could you eat everyday and love it?
- Modern or vintage?
- What is your guilty pleasure novel?
- Who is your favorite cartoon character?
- What wardrobe item can't you live without?
- World Cup or Olympics?
- Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
- Go to their page and tell them.
- Remember, no tag backs!

Xixia, congratulations on the award! Your mom is beautiful and all the athletes who got injured at the olympics, just as the event started my heart goes out to them. 4 years...and then....
ReplyDeleteThank you! My mama is so humble about it though. ^^ And yes, I know. :( I was devastated in the 2008 Olympics when he couldn't compete. But it was a beautiful moment - what wonderful athletes.

Congrats on the 'Boyfriend' award hun, lol. These are some really interesting answers, I agree with you on spending the last 24 hours with those you love and I loved your answer for question 5, I wish for that too. Lovely pic of your mum, she's beautiful! Would you believe I haven't seen Up, now you've got me intrigued, I've got to hire it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sam. That question gave me pause ; took me a while to answer it. And yes, she is! I look more like my dad, though, so I don't have her beauty. XD
DeleteAnd definitely see Up! It's a great film.
xx
Up is such a great film, I don't know how they do it and manage to make me tear up within the first 15 minutes! I loved that moment in the Olympics too when the athletes helped the Chinese runner off the track. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, the first time I saw it, Winnie, I was bawling like a baby. ;_;
DeleteAnd yes, it was an amazing moment. Really shows the beauty of the humanity.

I'm ridiculously i love with your blog.
ReplyDelete- you were able to put words on why we love that stupid man. but one can't really help but love robert downey jr anyway.
- black and white really can't get seperated!
- "UP" truly is the most heartbreaking and life-affirming film!

congrats on the award! haha my favorite part of the day is coming home from work too :) That part of the olympics was so great!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just the best? Coming home, kicking off your shoes, and just taking a few minutes to lounge around...:)

Aww, this post was really sweet! Your mom is BEAUTIFUL! Just like you! Isn't Google awesome! I've never visited, but they did a documentary on tv and I thought it was a wonderful place to work. UP made me cry a lot too! I love that movie. So much meaning. I'm like you, I wish people would treat one another better. There's enough resources on this earth for everyone to share. No one should be without a home, food, etc. Man has put a price on everything unfortunately.
