Lovely Things No. 4

September 16, 2012

A new edition of Lovely Things to start off the week! :)

There are some stores I visit where I just wish I could live there, and Anthropologie is without doubt one of them.  I particularly covet this fruit calendar, made by Rifle Paper Co:

If Anthropologie could be my home, then I'd like Madewell to be my closet.  Their pieces are clean and sophisticated, sweet and professional.  I've rifled through their fall catalogue dozens of times by now:

I have a love-fear relationship with the Game of Thrones HBO series.  Overall, I adore being transported to the world of Westeros, but I am constantly on the edge of my seat, fearing for my favorite characters' lives.  Anyways, Darrin Crescenzi recently remade the house sigils of the series, and I must admit, I think I prefer these minimalistic designs:

Falcon Wright specializes in screen printed leather goods, based in Toronto.  Their patterns, showcased in their Fall 2012 Lookbook, remind me of an understated Yayoi Kusama:

Poketo's Japanese copper graters are ever so charming, especially the turtle one:

Just because the summer season has just ended doesn't mean one should stop eating ( and making! ) summer salads. I'm looking forward to making this asparagus and deviled egg salad sometime soon~:

We all have style icons we look up to for inspiration, and one of mine is Miss Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper. Everything she wears is just ever so elegant and polished, like this nude cowl neck top outfit:

Food photography is burgeoning with talent these days, and Tomo Kohsaka is one of my favorite photographers.  Her pictures are brimming with warmth and simplicity that I hope to infuse in my meals from now on:

No matter how old I am, I believe I will always love graphic tops. But, my tastes have matured ( just a little bit ) from my Mickey and Minnie Mouse t-shirts to a more simple and clean graphic, like this Asos panda sweater:

Even though my tastes are maturing with my age, I will never turn my back on animated goodness that I have adored since I was a little girl of three. Thus, the youth in me was delighted to see this Cummulus & Nimbus video:

Wishing you a lovely week!

  23. I NEED IT ALL!! ohmygosh my love for this cannot be expressed. i clicked on so many of those links. you know i dont own anything from madewell - i was obsessed with their stuff in winder of 2010 (and by that i mean like every season i tend to pick a brand and visit their site like a mad person...and when i was interning never buy anything then regret it like crazy down the years - for instance, a hot pink straw foley + corinna cluch in summer 2008, a llama sweater from madewell last year, etc) anyhow i love this. those sigils! i want one for my last name then a badge of it to wear on a sweater

  26. Hi sweetheart, thanks for your kind comment. Wonderful post, you always find the most unusual and loveliest things! Sadly we don't have Anthropologie here, I am sure I would've loved it and wanted to live there too! I also like the quirky simplicity of Madewell clothing. Food photos are great and inspire us to try new things in the kitchen. The panda top is too cute and I've never seen this cartoon characters before, adorable!

Ooh, I like that outfit on the right from Madewell. Such nice earthy colors. It seems perfect for autumn.

I didn't expect to like Game of Thrones, but I did. I've seen that poster, and I thought it was clean and well done :)

Aahh, I love turtles! That grater is adorable! And yum, that summer salad looks good. I'm getting hungry from that and the food photography.

I hope you have a good week as well!
