Sweet Treats.

December 30, 2012

sweets & wine.
How were your holidays? My favorite part about this time of year has to be the gathering of people, of being able to see friends and family that I normally wouldn't and to maintain those bonds from my past. Oh, and also for the material goodies.

My lovie got me these measuring hedgehogs. Aren't they too adorable? I'm not sure if I could bear using them in the kitchen for fear of them dropping.

Speaking of baking, a few days ago, my friends and I just spent the night baking an assortment of goodies. What I found the most interesting was the brownies two of them made. After the batter was essentially prepared, the duo went around the kitchen, finding all the chocolatey ingredients they could, and throwing them into the mix. By the end, there was chocolate syrup, more cocoa powder, and Ghirardelli chocolate shavings (precariously done with a huge knife) added in.

before frosting.
A baking night isn't complete without cupcakes, and my friends and I opted for red velvet. I just love the vibrancy of the color.

the typography for the label reminds me of the scarlet letter.
How has your winter holiday been? Hopefully, it has been filled with relaxation, great food, and even better company. See you in the new year! :)

  5. Those measuring hedgehogs are so cute! I've seen cat ones before, but I didn't know there were also hedgehog ones. I'd be afraid to use them too. I'd hate to drop any of them!

Man, all of those sweets look delicious. It's making me crave brownies. My holidays have been filled with a lot of pie, which is good too, but I could really go for some brownies or cupcakes right now :)

    Happy New Year!
